Founded in 1936 by Eugene Dougherty Sr., Stark
Pattern, Inc. was an industry pioneer. The
company created the prototypes for the first electric
frying
pan and the first Hoover steam iron, as well as work
for the
Atomic Energy Commission. During the Korean War, Stark
Pattern made the casting pattern for an entire military
airplane wing.
Eugene's three sons, Eugene Jr.,
John, and Paul, took over in 1968, and steered the
business
in a new direction. In 1972, the company began cutting
custom aluminum blow molds for the plastics industry.
Their new name, Stark Pattern and Blow Mold, Inc. reflected
the company's quick response to rapid changes in America's
manufacturing industry.
In 1988, the third generation of
Doughertys took over the business. In 1992, the company changed
its name to Stark Mold & Pattern, Inc. to reflect
its emphasis on creating custom cut aluminum blow molds
for the plastics industry. Having the latest technology
has always been a priority at Stark Mold. Every mold
is designed and created using state-of-the-art 3-D CAD-CAM
software and CNC machinery.
Highly trained, experienced machinists
and design engineers still remain the lifeblood of
Stark Mold & Pattern. Our
customer base ranges from toymakers to automotive suppliers
to shoe companies. In its third generation of Dougherty
ownership, the business welcomes new opportunities and
challenges by putting customer satisfaction and quality
workmanship first. |
